We’re proud to announce that Expect has partnered with Malama, a digital maternal care platform redefining how high-risk pregnancies are supported through culturally responsive care, nutrition, and technology.
As part of this collaboration, Expect’s OB/GYN-approved fitness content is now featured on the Malama app, providing users with safe, accessible movement options designed to reduce the risks of complications like gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM).
Together, Malama and Expect offer a comprehensive solution for managing and preventing GDM—combining medical oversight, personalized nutrition planning, biometric tracking, and fitness support in one integrated experience. The platform connects users with a coordinated care team, including doulas, dietitians, physical therapists, and care managers, to build personalized care plans that include glycemic targets, exercise goals, and biometric syncing with tools like Dexcom and Ascensia.
With over 20,000 high-risk members served across 50 states and a Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 86, Malama’s outcomes speak for themselves:
- 61% reduction in macrosomia
- 46% reduction in preterm labor
- 18% reduction in NICU stays
- 11% reduction in C-sections compared to national GDM averages
- 6:1 savings for payers
This partnership strengthens our shared mission to make pregnancy safer, smarter, and more supportive—especially for those at greatest risk.
We're honored to be part of this innovative approach to maternal health and excited to keep expanding access to tools that truly work.
